Fortress of Joy is a faith church, it was established and built by faith. We teach faith, we believe God’s Word, but at times we can let things slip. Seems like to me I always have a faith project I am working on. I will use my faith to get the victory and almost immediately another project springs up. What is going on? The Lord says: this is how you live by faith. As long as the devil is out doing his business, we will need to rely on the faith God’s Word created within us.
Romans 10:17 Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
Now I realize this is a commonly known Scripture, but are you hearing and hearing God’s Word? If we have a failure in our faith walk it’s because we let the basic things slip out of our grasp! We must never let our faith life become a routine, faith is a way of life that assures us of a victory.
Romans 5:17 If you receive the gift of righteousness that comes by faith, you will reign in life by one Christ Jesus.
So, are you reigning in life or is life raining on you? The degree of success you have in life is your litmus test. If you are pleased with the way things are going and you’re using your faith, you passed the test. If things are not going so well and frustration is settling in, you may have not been faithful with your faith. This does not mean you’re a failure, it means you’re not using the gift God gave you to reign in life. It’s never too late to activate your faith and begin to call those things that are not as if they were.
Mark 11:23 Whosoever shall say to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but he believes the things which he says shall come to pass; he will have what he says.
I’m sure we have heard and read this Scripture many times but are we doing what it says to do? Living by faith does not have a cruise control, we must remain in control at all times. Faith cannot come out of you if it was never put in to begin with! If your words are not grounded in faith, the mountain will not hear you. Jesus gave us this faith law a day after He cursed the fig tree. When Jesus came to that tree it had no fruit when it should have. The Bible said he “answered” it, the fig tree let Him know it would not give Him what it was created to give. Our mountains speak to us all the time, they tell us they are not going to do what they were created to do.
Mountains are symbolic of the problems and obstacles in our lives. The mountain of debt speaks to us, the mountain of sickness speaks to us, the mountain of fear has us on speed dial. If we don’t remain sober and alert we will just stand there and let our mountains tell us what they’re gonna do. But if you’re influenced by God’s Word you will have the final say: Oh, my faith will take care of this: not unless you engage it, not unless you release it. Not knowing what to do can be an indication you need some more faith. All you need is faith the size of a mustard seed. Got faith?
February 9, 2020
Father, I am a tither, I know all the tithe belongs to You.
I know now that if I will obey You, You will open the windows of heaven and You will pour out my blessing.
I will be able to sow seed and You will rebuke the seedeater.
I thank You for revealing this to me. You take pleasure in my prosperity. I take pleasure in Your presence.
January is a month of fresh starts. It brings a “Do Over” mind set. Our commitment level is high. But by February we can already begin to lose momentum. Some areas we may have purposed to challenge ourselves are waning or we are stuck in the “planning” stage.
Strengthening our bodies
(To name a few)
The good news is we don’t have to do this all by ourselves. God says where two or more are in agreement. This month we purpose to pray for one another that we will faint not.
God is the one who began this good work in you, and He will complete it.
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Let us not become weary in doing good, for we will reap the harvest if we don’t give up.
