Some folks seem to think that once we are in heaven God’s Word expires and we live under a new set of rules.  Let me correct this kind of rationale, Jesus is the Word that became flesh and He will endure forever.

Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, Thy Word is settled in heaven.

What is the Word doing in heaven?  He is sitting at the right hand of the Father confirming the Word, His righteous servants are speaking in the earth.  Furthermore, the Word is upholding the functions in heaven.  The Word created heaven and the Word maintains it.  Heaven and earth will endure just as long as the Word does and the Word is an eternal being.  Heaven is a very strange place compared to planet earth, it does not depend on the sun for light because it’s never dark there.  There are no wars, no lack and no pain, man has never known such a place.

Hebrews 1:3 Jesus is upholding all things by the power of His Word.

We are one of those “all things” His Word is upholding, His Word will last just as long as we do!  All men lead a double life, the first life is the one we live in the flesh, the second life is the one we live in the Spirit forever.  The shortest span of our life is the one we live right now in our earth suit, it rarely goes over a hundred years.  But the next life is never ending in the Spirit in heaven or hell, whichever one you choose.  God gave the power of life and death over to man, we choose what we will have, not God.

Galatians 2:20 The life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God Who loves me and dies for me.

If we live in this life by the faith that Jesus lived in, how do we live in heaven?  The same way Jesus does, by His faith in what the Father spoke.  If we don’t learn His Word here in this life we will have to learn it in the next life.  Every student of any subject knows that they will be tested on what they have learned.  Who does the testing and what do they target?

1 Peter 1:7 The trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perishes might be found unto praise and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.

If it were not for the devil you may not have known whether you had faith or not.  The Word you know produces the faith you need to walk in the Spirit with Jesus.  The devil tries to persuade you with all kinds of trash, to abandon your connection with your Lord and Savior.  Every time you stand against the devil and hold fast to your confession of faith, God says your trial is more meaningful than gold.  If you do this the right way you will rejoice every time you disappoint the devil and please your Lord.  The Word is much more durable than the devil because he cannot sustain an attack for long, he has other saints he must put on trial.  We will never run out of ammunition because God’s Word endures forever.

    PRAYER FOCUS
    TAKING INVENTORY

We are about to embark on the greatest adventure and outpouring of God’s Spirit! This month the Holy Spirit is asking us to examine ourselves/take           inventory so as God’s Vessels we can take our part and place in the Body of Christ!

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
