building trust in god

Psalm 4:5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness and put your trust in the Lord.

A man could not offer his sacrifices to the Lord unless he first dealt with his sins.  A man would offer sacrifices because he acknowledged that God was His Lord.  Offering sacrifices established reverence and obedience but no intimacy.  A lot of Christians honor God in various manners but they neglect to make contact with their Savior.

Psalm 9:10 And they that know our Name will put their trust in You: for you Lord have not forsaken them that seek You.

A lot of people believe in God but they don’t know Him. God is a stranger to them, you cannot put your trust in someone you don’t Know!  Most folks don’t know how to establish trust in the Lord or they just don’t care to.  They are content to receive God as a mystery, knowing very little about Him.  But there are others who insist on knowing their Lord and Savior and they will do whatever they need to in order to discover Him.

John 14:7 If you had known Me, you should have known My Father also: and from now on you know Him, and have seen Him.

If any man desires to see God all he need do is look at Jesus in the Bible.  Jesus was the express image of His Father, the heavenly Father revealed Himself in Jesus.  Now Jesus did not insulate Himself from any man, He had no favorites.  He got rebuked by the church leaders because He had lunch with all the local sinners.  Jesus was drawn to all the people who needed God, He was a “chip” off the ole block”.  Jesus took the mystery out of God, no man has a legitimate excuse for not knowing the living God.  Jesus was Son of God, Son of Man, He had the body of a man but the Spirit of God.  Jesus came to reveal the Father and to invite all men into His presence.  A lot of men don’t feel worthy of His presence and they’re right but God wants us anyway.

James 4:8 Draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh unto you.  Cleanse  your hands you sinners; and purify your hearts…

This invitation is to all in the world, He wants all men to come close to Him.  He has made a way for all men to be free of sin, He makes us worthy of His presence.  If a man has not come to trust God, he will not draw nigh to Him.  God is not a man that He should lie.  We must never pull God down to man’s level, all men are liars but it is impossible for God to lie.  A man is known by his word, God is known by His Word.  God had His Word recorded because it will never change.

Psalm 89:34 My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of My lips.

God has said everything we need to hear Him say and it is eternal.  God is the only one we can trust and He says He wants intimacy with us.  So it’s all settled, there is no debate and no misunderstanding.  If a man has no faith or trust in God it is because he does not know what the Lord has said.  I have read His Word which is His will.  I know He loves me and He has invited me to share His throne, the seat of authority.

    OFFERING DECLARATION
    February 17, 2019

I bring the Lord’s tithe in the storehouse,
this is where I’m being fed.
Now bless the seed I sow,
multiply the seed that I give.
I will have no lack in my life,
because you rebuke the seed eaters for me.
Thank You Lord for my storehouse,
and thank you for a place to sow.
    Bless my storehouse with provision,
and bless our house with the people that belong here.
