a good church

Some folks appreciate the blessing of a good church, others fail to see the significance.  Every Believer needs a good church where they “get something out of it”.  I have been in churches that wasted my time, and I have been in others that taught me the things I needed.  Some churches are nothing more than social clubs where people gather to get into each others business.  So, what is a good church?  What do you look for and how do you find one?

Habakkuk 2:2 Write the vision, and make it plain  upon tables, that he may  run that reads it.

Not all churches are ordained of God, the ones that the Lord called to be will have a vision from the Master.  Some preachers choose their vocation as you would a secular job, these are not shepherds, they are hirelings.  When a Christian is looking for a church they should ask the pastor what his vision is.  The vision should witness to your spirit whether you can flow with it and if you have a gift that will support it.  If you have a draw towards the healing anointing, you would not be happy in a ministry that just feeds people.  I have had good people in my church for several years, but they never quite fit in.  They loved me and the people but they could not connect with my vision, so they moved on.

In a community, God will ordain multiple churches that don’t seem to agree with one another, so they remain divided.  I met with a dozen of the local pastors and found no fault in any of them, they were good committed ministers of the Lord Jesus.  So, I wondered what had divided us all these years.  One day, in a time of prayer, the Lord showed me the problem.  Every pastor had a different vision, so we were all called to do something specifically for the Lord.  We all misunderstood each others motives and we allowed that to divide us.  And then the Lord said this to me: If every church does what I ordained it to do, then I can cover the entire community with my supernatural provision.

Psalm 127:1 Except the Lord build the house, they labor in vain that build it.

Not all churches or ministries are built by the will of God, some begin in His will but they stray away from it.  I know of some that are out of God’s will but they see their error and repent.  I have a couple of pastor friends that had large churches, but one day they got filled with the Holy Spirit and shared the experience, they were both given the left foot of fellowship.  You do not want to be part of a church where not even God is welcome.

Do not choose your home church based on location or the appearance of the building.  Spend time in prayer and the Holy Ghost will lead you to the place He needs you to be.

1 Corinthians 12:18 God sets the members in the body as it has pleased Him.

Your choice of a home church must please your Lord, not you.  But after you join yourself to His choice, you will be glad and very much blessed.

    PRAYER FOCUS
    TAKING INVENTORY

We are about to embark on the greatest adventure and outpouring of God’s Spirit! This month the Holy Spirit is asking us to examine ourselves/take           inventory so as God’s Vessels we can take our part and place in the Body of Christ!

    Scriptures to meditate on:

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily besets us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us.

Psalm 26:4 Lord you can scrutinize me. Refine my heart and probe my every thought. Put me to the test and you will find it is true.

2 Cor 10:6 It is written, and having a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

1 Peter 4:17 For judgement begins at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?

Psalm 139: 23, 24 Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me of unbelief and lead me in the way everlasting.

2 Timothy 2:4 No soldier when in service gets entangled in the enterprises of (civilian) life: his aim is to satisfy and please the one who enlisted him (God)! DO ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!
