God is the Father of all spirits and every spirit He creates will live forever, you cannot cause a spirit to cease to exist. This is the reason the devil is still with us today, he is a spirit in search of a body. The Bible teaches us that man is a spirit, he possesses a soul which is his mind, will and emotions and he lives in a body or an earth suit. All men live forever whether they be alive in their spirit or if they are spiritually dead. A person who is spiritually dead is like their father Adam after he sinned, they have no connection to God, they are connected to the devil.
1 Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made a live.
All men are born into this world spiritually dead, we must choose to have the life Christ died to give us. According to the law of Genesis every seed produces after its own kind. Consequently Adam passed his spiritual death upon all his descendants, I submit to you that this was a blessing in disguise.
Romans 5:18 Yes, Adam’s one sin brings condemnation for everyone, but Christ’s one act of righteousness brings a right relationship with God and new life for everyone.
According to the law of Genesis all mankind was guilty of Adam’s sin and all mankind can be guilty of Christ’s righteousness! No one had a choice when it came to Adam’s sin but all men have a choice when it comes to the righteousness of Christ. After a man receives Jesus he can then sow to the Spirit and not just the flesh, the Bible calls sowing to the Spirit: well doing.
Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary (faint, weak) in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Permit me to offer you a parable: when you work hard on your job or around your house you grow physically weary. You need to take some time to rest, time to revive your tired body, but what about your spirit. We can become weary in well doing, sowing from our spirit and awaiting the results. So, what do we need? Revival!
2 Corinthians 2:13 I had no rest in my spirit because I could not find my brother Titus.
When Paul found Titus he was relieved, he found exactly what he needed. The spirit of man never sleeps but it can grow weary in well doing and with disappointment. How does God revive the spirits of men? He reiterates what He has spoken from the beginning, He speaks exactly what we need to hear.
Isaiah 28:12 And God said, this is the rest where with you may cause the weary to rest, and this is the refreshing: but they would not hear.
God cannot revive the weary soul against their will, we must be willing to hear, believe and receive. Brother Joe is a revivalist anointed of God to bring us back to the refreshing, a time to hear and receive.
Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, it means different things to different people. Children love Christmas, the lights, the songs, the food, and oh yes the presents. But for a lot of adults Christmas is a lot of work, worry and expenses, some go in debt over Christmas. The true meaning of Christmas manages to get lost amid all the preparations. To better understand Christmas we must begin in the book of Genesis.
Genesis 3:15 I will put hostility between you (the devil) and the woman and between your seed and HER SEED: it shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heel.
All through the Bible the birth of a child was referred as the seed of man, but this would be the seed of the woman. Her seed would not come from a man, it would come from the Holy Spirit and she would be a virgin. The devil received the prophetic Word God gave him, so he was determined to kill the child of the woman. He did not know which woman or when, so he set out to kill everyone associated with the birth of her baby.
Acts 7:52 Which of the prophets have not your fathers persecuted? They have killed them which showed before of the coming of the Just One; of whom you have been now the betrayers and murderers.
The devil knew a man was coming to destroy him and his plans for mankind, but he didn’t know the identity of the man. The devil does not have access to revelation knowledge, he gets his revelations from us when the Lord gives them to us and we speak them. He heard the shepherds and wise men talking about a new born King. Men could hear the angels singing and so the devil could hear them, he knew this may be the seed of the woman. The devil stirred Herod and got him convinced that a King was born who would dethrone him. So, he ordered the slaughter of all the male kids two years and under. Have you noticed that the devil’s solution for everything is death, just kill them all.
Mathew 2:11 When the wise men came into the house they worshipped the child and they presented Him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
Jesus was a very rich child and he was only a few days old. The gifts of the wise men were very costly, they were given to kings and royalty. Who were these wise men? The wise men were the descendants of Abraham, when they became men they traveled east and dwelt there. Father Abraham told them that one day one of his descendants would be born a King of the nation. There were not three wise men, Jewish history tells us that there were between ten and fifty wise men. They all brought gifts and their gifts were one of the three you gave to a new born king.
Notice our text, the wise men came into the house. Jesus was born in a barn because the hotels were full, after He was born they moved into a house.
Sometimes when I think of the heroes in the Bible I wonder what it would be like to live in their day. I think about Elijah and the Apostle Paul and how they walked so closely to God and worked miracles. But not all of the characters in the Bible were highly spoken of, in fact many of them are in hell today. Every person ever born of a woman has a place in the Bible and not every place is a blessing.
Job 12:10 For the life of every living thing is in His hand, and the breath of every human being.
No one is ever born into this world by accident, God personally knows every person ever born of a woman. No one can exist in this life without God’s intervention into the life cycle. If you are a living creature you are recorded in the Bible, God gave you your breath.
Hebrews 12:9 Shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of Spirits and live?
God and only God creates spirits, when a woman conceives in her womb God imparts a spirit into that new flesh and external life begins. If that new life dies in the womb or is ripped out, that spirit will return to it’s Heavenly Father. God is the Father of all spirits but not all spirits accept Him as their Lord. Hell is getting full of spirits that God created but hell was not suppose to be their final destination.
Galatians 3:8 The Scriptures looked forward to this time when God would make the gentiles right in His sight because of their faith.
The gentiles, also called heathens, are all the people who have no covenant with the Father of Spirits. This is our position in the world when we begin our life. We are recorded in the Bible and satan is our father, most people don’t take this serious. The god of this world blinds our minds from the truth and so we have no fear of hell, because it is totally misrepresented by “religion”! We are in the Bible but we are on the wrong side of the cross, we have yet to meet Jesus on His cross.
2 Corinthians 5:17 If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new.
When a heathen believes, they exercise their faith and they accept Jesus as their Savior, now they are new creatures in the Bible. This new person in Christ is someone who has never existed before, we are babies that must learn and grow into the image of God’s dear Son. After we are baptized into the Holy Ghost then He begins to write our chapter for the book of Acts. The book of Acts was never completed, it is still being recorded with what we do with the Holy Spirit. We began our place in the Bible as spirits from the Father, then we were born into human bodies but spiritually dead. After sometime we were told the truth and were born again, we reconnected with the one who authorized our existence. Jesus delivered us from the powers of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. We are on the blessing side of the Bible, the place where we have fellowship with Jesus forever.
When I look back on my life I have come to realize that growing up was fun. I always looked forward to my next birthday because I got presents and got to do things that my age qualified me to do. When I left my childhood behind I had to deal with things that required a more serious attitude. I had to deal with the military and all the things a new adult has to deal with. All my time as a student and a member of a large family prepared me for the responsibilities of life.
Growing up can take its toll on anyone who is not properly trained to accept all the challenges. I slipped into the world and away from my relationship with God. Just like everyone else, life was hard because I became its student.
Ephesians 4:11,14 God gave some Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers for the maturing of the Saints. That we be no more children, tossed to and fro by deceivers.
I became a born-again Christian, a child of God, a babe in Christ. Now I’m growing up all over again for the first time. I’m back to enjoying my childhood all over again and I’m having fun growing up in Him. I will continue to grow until I see Him face to face.
After I was baptized with the Holy Ghost I would spend the whole day praying in tongues as I worked as a welder. Whenever I paused revelation would come to me, I didn’t ask for it, it just came. It took me awhile to catch on but I was having a conversation that I could ask the Lord questions and He would give me the answers. Any doubt I had has been washed away with all the things the Master has shared with me. Most of the questions I have had were given to me by the Lord Himself.
Luke 11:9 So I say to you, ask and keep on asking and it shall be given you.
So, one day I was praying in the Spirit and I began to think of the condition of the devil. The devil is a fallen angel and all angels are big, powerful and beautiful. So, what happens to them when they chose to follow satan? I have seen devils with the eye of my Spirit when I prayed for people and they are dark, small and shriveled up. So, I asked the Lord what happened to those fallen angels? He told me this, the devils became carriers, they began to carry sickness and disease, they carry the curse. Then I remembered some of the people I prayed for and how their countenance was changed by sickness and disease.
1 Corinthians 2:10 God has revealed the things He has prepared for those who love Him, by His Spirit.
The Lord has some great and wonderful things laid up in store for those who obey Him, but we must receive the revelation of them from the Holy Ghost. If God’s Spirit holds no place of honor in your life, you will never see or know what He has for you. There’s a lot of fake news concerning the Holy Spirit. Now, where do you suppose it all originated? Who has the most to gain by keeping the Spirit of God out of the church of Jesus Christ? If you answered the devil you are exactly right. What would you call a church where the Holy Ghost is not welcome? A morgue, I ought to know, I grew up in one and at the time I thought it was the best thing going.
Luke 9:60 Jesus said unto him, let the dead bury their dead: but go ye and preach the kingdom of God.
Jesus had little tolerance for men who created feeble excuses for not obeying the Father. He was the Father’s voice in the earth and Father would not play religious games with anyone. Men’s eternity hung in the balance and the only thing that could save them was the truth. According to Jewish tradition, if a man didn’t want to do something he would say, let me go and bury my father first. Father loved the people too much to let some worn out excuse keep them from the promises of God.
Revealed knowledge is God imparting His thoughts to those who have an ear for His Spirit. If you don’t hear from God you become a survivor, when you do hear you become an overcomer. Hearing the wisdom of God creates intimacy with God, it makes one feel special because you are.
Abraham and his descendants had access to the blessing under the law. Jesus fulfilled the law, so what has become of God’s blessing?
Galatians 3:9 So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.
Abraham was blessed because he was faithful (obedient), so faith has something to do with obedience. The blessing that was spoken over Adam and then reiterated to Abram has been offered to the church of Jesus Christ. There is only one blessing that covers five elements of life.
Galatians 3:13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us, cursed is everyone on a tree.
Christ has redeemed us. Who is us? These are the people who choose to live by faith. These people believe God despite not being able to see or touch God. They are obedient to God’s Word, they do not require only tangible evidence. Born-again Christians are the recipients of every aspect of God’s blessing. If a Christian believes God’s Word then he can believe for the blessing every day of the world. Religion has done a good job of teaching folks how to walk in false humility. My pastor loved to quote what the Roman Centurion said to Jesus:
Lord I am not worthy that You should come under my roof.
Well, I have a Scripture that puts the centurion’s quote to rest once and for all. When you get born-again Jesus comes to dwell in your heart, so forget the roof thing. The Jews considered the Romans to be dogs and were not worthy of entering a Jews house. Jesus didn’t care about the man’s title, He was willing to go to his home despite the Jews home made rule.
Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.
God promised Abraham He would bless all the families through him. God gave us the gift of eternal life and the grace that changes a man from the inside out. Adam’s father was our father the devil, grace supernaturally severed the ties we had with the devil and connected us to Christ. Now we are as Adam was before he sinned, we have a right to the same blessing God spoke over him. So, how do we get blessed? By faith! We must believe that Jesus gave up His life in order to restore the blessing and image or God.
Psalm 68:19 Blessed be the Lord who daily loads us up with benefits.
The word benefits are rewards, we can call them blessings and remain Scriptural. Notice how often God will bless us every day. If you believe God’s Word then you should look to be blessed every day of your life. He said He would bless us in the city and the field, that is the only two places in the world, in town and out of town. Where is your blessing? It’s in Christ waiting to overtake you, get ready, your blessings are here.
When God created Adam He blessed him and put him in a garden. Everything Adam would ever need was in that garden, Adam was born in to a great place. Under the blessing of his heavenly Father, Adam would use his dominion to keep and replenish his home. Adam could maintain the goodness of God and keep undocumented immigrants out. All of Adam’s people would be by invitation only. But Adam didn’t listen to Father, he invited a foreign invader into the homeland and the cruel dictator usurped his will over what was once Adam’s.
Genesis 12:1-2 Now God said to Abram, I will make of thee a great nation and My people, My nation will be great again.
God was not willing to squander His blessing, He offered it to Abram that He would make His people great again. I believe God would make every nation great again if they would acknowledge Him as Lord and Savior. Israel would not be the only nation He would make great. In 1776 people who fled from England to a land called America, it was called the new world. Britain sent troops to America to reinstate their laws over the Americans, but the men of the new world formed an army and evicted the “Brits”.
The founding fathers drew up a binding document whereby a nation will be governed. Most of the founding fathers were preachers and they used the Bible as the bases for the “constitution”. God was once again creating a Great Nation, a people who would acknowledge His sovereignty. The United States has become the greatest nation on earth, a place of great wealth and more importantly a place of freedom. No nation or nations on earth have the power to overcome such a great nation as the United States. Freedom has always produced wealth and it has always drawn enemies.
Galatians 5:1 Christ has set us free to live a free live. So take your stand! Never again let anyone put a harness of slavery on you.
Now who in the world would try to enslave us? The devil has never given up on his vision of having God’s creation to worship him as their god! He has successfully recruited people that worship him and they are not even aware of what they are doing. These are the people that will not acknowledge the truth, so the devil has no problem taking them into his service. The devil is out to destroy America but he cannot raise a big enough army. He is methodically chipping away at our foundation, he is removing our chief cornerstone, he is devaluing Jesus. People are treating God like the founding fathers treated England, they did not want their laws or their customs.
Galatians 5:13 You have been called unto freedom, use not your liberty as an occasion to the flesh.
The flesh represents everything that is contrary to God and His will for our freedom. The constitution is a secular document but founded on spiritual principles, it will work perfectly for the believer just as well as the heathen. God made Israel great again after Adam quenched its beginning. It is time for America to be great again, it is time she return to her roots, to the chief cornerstone, Jesus our Lord.
Far too many Christians fall way short when it comes to receiving the promises of God. The way I hear Christians talk it would appear they would be thrilled if God would just bless them a couple times a year. Would you believe me if I told you that you were entitled to His blessings every day? Well, don’t take my word on it, let’s go into God’s Word and see what He says about blessing His people.
Genesis 1:28 And God blessed them, and God said unto Adam, be fruitful, multiply, restore the earth, subdue it and have dominion over every living thing.
After God created man He blessed them and with this blessing they were empowered to accomplish five things. Empowered by the blessing they would be fruitful, multiply (not double), replenish the earth, subdue it and have total dominion. This blessing was for Adam and his descendants, it was the only blessing God had, it was all man would ever need. Now, when Adam sinned he disqualified himself from the blessing and he released the curse into the perfect world God created for him. God blessed Adam because he was created in God’s image which is righteousness and true holiness. but now Adam bears the image of his new father the devil. Twenty-one hundred years later God appears to Abram and offers him a covenant.
Genesis 12:2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will BLESS you and you will be a blessing.
God only has one blessing, Adam disqualified himself and so God offers His blessing to Abram. Abram had to do one thing to qualify, he had to be willing to obey God. Abram was faithful to God and he became the patriarch of the nation of Israel. God changed his name to Abraham which means “father of many nations”. Abram was under the blessing, God took the seed of one man and multiplied it so one man became a great nation. As the nation grew God gave them dominion over all the “ites” in the land. But when Israel disobeyed they went into captivity to the local “ites”.
Deuteronomy 11:26 Behold, I set before you this day the blessing and the curse. The blessing if you obey My commandments, and the curse if you will not obey My commandments.
So, now all of Abraham’s descendants have an opportunity to walk in the blessing God originally spoke over Adam. The blessing is in the earth and the curse is in the earth, man has a choice between the two. The nation of Israel could not sustain its obedience for any length of time, so they had to contend with the curse continually. Israel was constantly in and out of bondage, but God always showed them His mercy because they had the nature of Adam’s father the devil. Mercy would invite the restoration of God over and over again, but the ministry of grace would not be available until the death and resurrection of Christ.
Adam invited the devil into our world and when evil came, death came with him. The devil turned Cain against Able. This was the first conflict of man and we have had too many wars to count. God ordained armies and soldiers in Israel and Judah, He helped them defeat the devil’s armies. God helped the United States defeat Germany and Japan, by raising up an intercessor by the name of Reese Howells. The Holy Spirit led Reese to pray during the war and our soldiers were victorious. Because evil lurks among us, we will continue to see wars until the devil is locked up in his pit forever.
John 15:13 Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
No soldier goes to war expecting to die but many do. The rest return home with wounds that you can see and some you cannot see. They are called wounded warriors and many of them have this testimony; they would return to the battlefield if they were able. Every soldier enters a war zone in fear but their duty to country and their brothers is replaced with guts. I knew a man who survived the Bataan Death March in the Philippines. The Japanese beat him relentlessly, they starved him and he contracted Malaria. He came home unable to hold a job, he became an alcoholic and died, a victim of his wounds. But despite his addiction he was a hero in our town, a title he rightfully earned.
Number 32:21-22 You will go before the Lord well armed and drive out the enemies before Him and afterward you shall return guiltless before the Lord and the land shall be your possession before the Lord.
Christians make good soldiers because they take the Lord into battle. Kenneth Copeland tells the story of the commander of a squad of Green Beret, he called Kenneth for prayer. Kenneth prayed for him and he went off to his tour of duty. The Commander returned home and called Kenneth to testify. He and his men had many skirmishes over the year they were in the field and not one casualty. Praise the Lord. Many soldiers return full of guilt but God says they will not be held in contempt. If God will not lay this charge to their account then they ought not to as well. A soldier does what he has to do whether he approves of it or not. God bless them.
2 Timothy 2:3 Therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
There are no civilians in God’s Army, every believer is called to fight God’s enemy. We are the best equipped army in the world, we have been issued God’s personal armor. We have the most powerful weapons, no enemy is a match for our equipping. We don’t shoot our wounded, we lay our hands on them and get them healed and restored. A soldier cannot adequately explain for you why he joins the armed forces, there is a courage within him that must be exploited. A soldier does not require understanding, what he does deserve is honor and respect. When you see a soldier, thank him or her for their sacrifice. Remember this, you are the one they were willing to lay their life down for. God bless soldiers.
When the Apostle Paul was on his missionary journey he met some interesting people. Some of them were significant and some made no difference. The encounters that he did have were recorded for our benefit and enlightenment. When he came to the coasts of Ephesus he met twelve men who were disciples of Christ. He asked them if they had received the Holy Ghost since they believed. They told Paul they had never heard of any Holy Ghost.
Acts 19:3-4 Paul said to them, what then were you baptized? They said it was John’s baptism. Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying they should believe on Him who is coming Christ Jesus.
So, these twelve men were baptized in water which means they had repented of their sins. This is an important event but it did not save them!. I grew up in a church that taught me that I could not be saved without water baptism. They also taught that I had to confess my sins to the pastor and then pray for punishment. Then I had to take “holy communion” in order to enter a state of grace. And then if I sinned I lost my place in heaven and I had to start the process over again. Let us progress along with these disciples and we will revisit “baptism”.
Acts 19:5 When the twelve men heard what Paul said they were baptized into the Name of the Lord Jesus.
To keep you from getting confused, let me point out to you what Paul said in the sixth chapter of Hebrews. In this letter Paul says he wants to teach the church about the doctrine of baptisms. So, baptism is not a one size fits all kind of deal. In fact, there are three baptisms we need to experience. So, when the twelve disciples were baptized in the Name of Jesus, they were born-again. Now they are progressing, they began with water baptism and now they are baptized into the Body of Christ, but Paul wasn’t done with them yet.
Acts 19:6 Then Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spoke with tongues and prophesied.
Now in the space of some minutes the twelve disciples experienced all three baptisms, these are progressive Christians. I watch Christians receive a promise of God and they become satisfied and don’t seem to want any more. Part of the reason for this is that no one is telling them that they are entitled to more.
Acts 2:38 Repent, be baptized in the Name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
This is not water baptism, this is being born-again where all of our sins are washed away. This is our birthday and Father gives us a gift, He is the Holy Spirit. If we will permit Him, the Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. The truth is what God has prepared for us to possess over the span of our life. The Progressive Christian.
December 9, 2018
I bring the Lord's tithe, now the Lord can bless my obedience.
The house of God can have substance, to sustain all aspects of the vision.
I will bless His house, and He will bless me.
These are the laws of prosperity, laws the devil cannot challenge.
